International Week Amsterdam/Diemen 2017
Following the International Week that was organized in Rotterdam and The Hague last February, this week this event will take place in Amsterdam/Diemen. In Diemen the International Week is organized by the Faculty of Creative Business and the Faculty of Business, Finance and Law, and in Amsterdam by the study programme Pedagogics.
During this International Week, 15 international guests are welcomed, originating from Belgium, Denmark, Egypt, Finland, France, Germany, Lithuania, Morocco, Spain and the UK. Most guests are lecturers from partner universities, who will be teaching our first and second year students. Some guests are from other universities and some guests are non teaching staff from partner universities, attending the International Week for training purposes – they will exchange information with Inholland professionals and share best practices. Finally, the International Week is also hosting some Dutch guests who will be giving lectures related to an international theme.
In order to prepare students well for the more and more globalizing work field, Inholland intends to offer students a learning environment in which an international experience is stimulated. The “International Week” is a great chance for students to get insight into international perspectives of their field of expertise, and to learn from a lecturer who is originally from another culture and another educational background. Besides, Inholland lecturers might be inspired by conversations with guest lecturers who are experts in the same field.
During the International Week, several activities are planned to promote study and internship abroad. Students who have already done an internship or study abroad will share their experiences. The study program Communication will organize a 'Timbuktu game' during which students are stimulated to go abroad in a playful way.
